ASTERIX

ABOUT

His dam was herself successful up to 1.50 m level, providing an excellent foundation for Asterix and his future in the sport.

Asterix has enormous scope and impresses with his athleticism, modern build and excellent attitude. For his age, he is currently still a little less experienced than some other seven-year-old horses. Due to his size and substantial frame, he probably needed a little more time to physically develop and feel completely comfortable in his body. Now he is ready to take the next step.

Asterix comes directly from the breeder, where he was exceptionally well raised and given plenty of time to develop and mature at his own pace into a big, athletic sport horse. As his owners did not have the time to take him to competitions regularly, he has had relatively few starts so far. As a result, he has slightly less competition experience for his age – but a lot of potential for the future.

At the moment, Asterix is comfortably jumping at around 1.20–1.25 m level. He is very well schooled on the flat and already gives a very good feeling in the course. Due to his limited competition experience, he is still developing the routine and strength required for the more technical demands of higher-level courses.

He naturally has a very big and powerful canter, which is a great quality for the future. At the same time, he will still benefit from further training to become quicker at collecting and shortening his stride again between the fences, especially when courses become more technical. With more strength, mileage and experience, we believe he has the ingredients to continue developing towards a significantly higher level.

At the jump, Asterix shows plenty of power, good technique and quality, while still having room to develop further with experience and routine.

In everyday handling, Asterix is an absolute gentleman: extremely kind, uncomplicated and pleasant. He loads well, takes everything in his stride and is equally enjoyable to ride at unfamiliar venues. He is neither spooky nor looky and gives his rider a very good feeling.

Asterix would suit both a professional rider looking to develop a horse towards the higher levels and an ambitious amateur who wants to progress together with their horse into the bigger sport.

A big, beautiful and athletic sport partner with a lot of scope, an excellent pedigree and huge potential for the future.
